The news about Alexandria's effort to make bars smoke-free is officially out and spreading around the state!
Yesterday, Alexandria officials held a forum with local bar owners and other citizens to discuss a proposed new ordinance that would expand the city's current smoke-free regulations from restaurants and most workplaces in the city to bars and gaming establishments such as bingo halls.
The meeting was well-attended and it looks as if there's a lot of positive momentum for this smoke-free ordinance. Alexandria TV station KALB was on hand to cover the gathering and provided this wrap-up:
