Supporter Spotlight: Jan Swift of Lafayette
Once again, it's time to turn the spotlight on one of our many smoke-free supporters around the state. This week, we highlight a passionate Let's Be Totally Clear supporter from Lafayette, Jan Swift. Jan is manager at United Title of Louisiana Inc. and Executive Director of the Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation and she was recently named one of the Lafayette area's "Fittest Execs" by The Independent Weekly.
Jan spoke at the recent Let's Be Totally Clear Air Quality press conference in Lafayette and here is what she had to say about making Lafayette a smoke-free city:
“Today we have the chance to make Lafayette a world-class city and the first in our state to take a stand for the individuals who create the arts and culture that make Lafayette like no other place in Louisiana.
“Today we are standing here together and inviting others to join us as we work to make Lafayette a world-class city that protects and preserves the lives of those who make it unique by making Lafayette 100% smoke-free for ALL employees in their place of work. No longer should our musicians, cultural employees and bar employees be forced to breathe hazardous air to earn a paycheck to support their family.”
