Smoke-free Push Continues: From DeRidder to Cenla

Communities across the state continue to explore ways to ensure safe, smoke-free environments for citizens, no matter where they go, from music venues to parks and public spaces. If you've been following our blog, you've already heard about the smoke-free efforts in Alexandria. Work continues there, but the process could take some time.

Now, in order to show our appreciation to all of those in Cenla who have been leading the smoke-free push in Alexandria, we're hosting a special "Thank You Dinner" from  5-7 p.m. on Monday, August 8 at Alexandria Museum of Art on 933 Main St. The party is open and there will be live music to enjoy (so spread the word).

Meanwhile, down in DeRidder, there is a move to make all city parks smoke-free. This push have been growing stronger over the past few weeks and now it appears to be on the verge of happening.
